Griswold & Gunnison

Former Confederate soldier Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) is supposed to be carrying a Confederate-made Griswold & Gunnison revolver, by which he is recognised in Episode 1.

Griswold & Gunnison revolver - .36 Percussion.

In fact he is carrying a Brass frame Pietta "1860" Army model in .44 caliber with the shorter Navy all brass grips.

Bohannon holds his Griswold & Gunnison after mudering a Union soldier who raped his wife.

If you blow the image up you will see it actually has the streamlined 1860 style barrel instead of the "Dragoon" U.S. Model 1848 barrel the Griswold & Gunnison used.

Bohannon covers his Griswold & Gunnison with his coat after it's recognized by Daniel Johnson.

Colt 1860 Army

During the openning credits sequence, Bohannon is seen with a Colt 1860 Army instead of his usual Griswold & Gunnison.

Bohannon holds a Colt 1860 in the openning credits.

Remington 1858 New Model Army

Former Union soldier Daniel Johnson (Ted Levine) carries a Remington 1858 New Army in Episode 1.
