This became the most common weapon after its interoduction in Season 4, Episode 8 ("The First Ones"). It was discontinued after Season 7, Episode 9 ("Avenger 2.0"), due to an ammo ban in Canada that made procuring the special blanks impossible.

The main weapon used by all SG teams for the first few seasons.
M4A1
"Carter Special" Micro Carbine
This is a customized M4A1 with a short 11.5" barrel, aftermarket quadruple-rail accessory forend, and a modified thumbhols stock taken from a Sterling AR-180 rifle. It is used with an ACOG sight and a C-mag 100-round drum and can mount a vertical foregrip and a side-mounted flashlight on the accessory rail. It gets its name from Samantha Carter, the character who carries it.
