Look Who's Back
|
Look Who's Back (German title: Er ist wieder da, lit. "He's Back Again") is a 2015 German satirical black comedy film based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Timur Vermes. The film follows Adolf Hitler (Oliver Masucci), who suddenly wakes up in present-day Berlin in 2014, finding Germany still full of the problems that he attempted to fix. Eventually, he is discovered by filmmaker Fabian Sawatzki (Fabian Busch), who, under the impression that Hitler is an impersonator, agrees to help him become a celebrity. The film follows Hitler and Sawatzki as they travel across Germany in search of fame, interspersed with unscripted scenes of Hitler interacting with the present-day citizens of Germany. The film was released to critical and public acclaim in both Germany and the rest of the world. An Italian remake, I'm Back, was released in 2018.
