In the Land of Saints and Sinners is a 2023 Irish period action thriller set in County Donegal in the year 1974 during the height of "The Troubles". Four members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army are forced to hide out in the small village of Glencolmcille after setting off a bomb in Belfast in which a passing family is inadvertently (along with the intended targets) wiped out and two of the team members are identified by witnesses. Liam Neeson plays Finnbar Murphy who is a contract killer for local mobster Robert McQue (Colm Meaney). He lives quietly in the village; his true profession unknown to the locals. He and the IRA soldiers' cross paths and there ensues a violent clash. Though the film is distributed by Netflix at this time it is only streaming in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

The following weapons were used in the film In the Land of Saints and Sinners:

Beretta 92FS

Finnbar acquires a Beretta 92FS from a local gangster for the climactic gunfight. This is anachronistic since the story is taking place in 1974 and the 92FS would not be introduced for another fourteen years (1988).

Shotguns

Double Barreled Shotgun

Finnbar's only firearm is a 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun that he uses for his contract killings as well as informal shooting contests with local Garda Vinnie O'Shea (Ciarán Hinds). It's a nice bit of accurate writing. Double barreled shotguns can be privately owned without too much difficulty in Ireland. It's a powerful weapon and since it's a smoothbore shooting buckshot it makes forensics more problematic, and he doesn't have to worry about hiding an illegal weapon. He identifies it as an "A.H. Fox" which was a high-end American shotgun made in Philadelphia from approximately 1905 - 1932. Savage bought the name and continued to make shotguns under the name, but the quality wasn't as good. However, the shotgun used in the moves has a sidelock action and A.H. Fox only used the boxlock or Anson-Deeley action. The true make of shotgun is unknown.
