L.A. Takedown (1989)

L.A. Takedown is a 1989 television crime film written and directed by Michael Mann that was intended to be a pilot for a weekly television series. Instead, Mann would later remake this film as 1995's Heat.

The following weapons were used in the film L.A. Takedown:

Handguns

SIG-Sauer P226

Det. Vincent Hanna (Scott Plank) uses a nickel SIG-Sauer P226 as his sidearm throughout the movie.

A nickel SIG-Sauer P226 pistol chambered in 9x19mm. This is another real movie gun and has been adapted to fire full flash motion picture blanks.
Det. Hanna fires his nickel SIG-Sauer P226 during the Wilshire Blvd. shootout.
Hanna aims his nickel SIG P226 during the takedown at the hotel. Note that the bore of the gun shows that the barrel is blued and not nickel, which means that this is a nickel P226 of post-1988 manufacture, and therefore brand-new at the time that the movie was filmed. (Nickel SIG-Sauer pistols made prior to late-1988 all had their barrels nickeled.)

Smith & Wesson 659

A stainless Smith & Wesson 659 appears to be the handgun carried by Patrick McLaren (Alex McArthur).
