Carter (Korean title: 카터, Kateo) is a 2022 South Korean action-thriller film. The film takes place during an outbreak of the DMZ Virus, a North Korean-engineered pathogen that induces psychosis in the infected, and follows an amnesiac South Korean agent who is tasked with rescuing a young girl cured of the virus so that a vaccine can be developed from her. The entire film is presented as one continuous, uninterrupted take and received mixed-to-negative reviews for its plot, but was praised for its action and cinematography.
The following weapons were used in the film Carter:
Pistols
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS is used by multiple characters throughout the film.
Colt M1911A1
The Colt M1911A1 incorrectly appears as the standard sidearm of the North Korean People's Army throughout the film. While North Korea does have 1911 pistols in their inventory stocks (some examples can be seen in old propaganda films such as Order No. 027), they are used primary by spies and infiltration commandos and the like. A more common sidearm for a KPA officer to be carrying would be an Eastern Bloc pistol such as a Makarov PM or a local copy of a Tokarev TT-33 or a CZ 75.
CZ 75 "First Model"
A CZ 75 "First Model" is seen with Kim Jong-hyeok (Lee Sung-jae). The pistol possibly stands in for the Baek-Du San pistol, an unlicensed North Korean clone of the CZ 75.
CZ 75 "Pre-B"
Kim Jong-hyeok (Lee Sung-jae)'s CZ-75 "First Model" changes to a CZ 75 "Pre-B" in a continuity error.
Glock 17
Glock 17s are used by multiple characters throughout the film.
Glock 18C
The Glock 18C is used by most of the characters, mostly South Korean National Intelligence Service agents, throughout the film.
Heckler & Koch HK45
The Heckler & Koch HK45 is used by multiple CIA agents in the beginning of the film.
Heckler & Koch USP
A suppressed Heckler & Koch USP is used by multiple characters throughout the film.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 is seen with multiple CIA agents.
Assault Rifles
AKM
The AKM is used by all of the North Korean military characters throughout the film.
Daewoo K2
The Daewoo K2 is seen being used by the South Korean army in a video shown to Carter.
Heckler & Koch HK416
The Heckler & Koch HK416 is seen with multiple South Korean SOU officers.
Knight's Armament SR-47
The Knight's Armament SR-47 is used by one of Ri Cheol-ju's subordinates while chasing Carter. The original KAC quad rail is replaced with a free floated PRI Delta tubular handguard.
Sniper Rifles
Remington M40A5
Carter Lee (Joo Won) briefly uses a Remington M40A5.
SVD Dragunov
Han Jung-hee (Jung So-ri) briefly uses an SVD Dragunov while fighting the infected.
Machine Guns
Handheld M134 Minigun
Kim Jong-hyeok (Lee Sung-jae) briefly uses a Handheld M134 Minigun to destroy a helicopter being piloted by Carter.
Other
AGM-114 Hellfire
An AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-ground missile is fired from a helicopter in the film.
Helicopter-mounted gun
A gun is seen mounted to the bottom of a helicopter.
