M16A1

The United States soldiers seen during Emmett Fitz-Hume (Chevy Chase)and Austin Millbarge's training are carrying M16A1's. Also, M16's are one of the many rifles used by the Mujahideen.

M16A1 with 20 round magazine - 5.56x45mm.

M1 Carbine

Several of the Mujahideen are seen wielding M1 Carbines.

World War Two Era M1 Carbine, with Dark Walnut Stock, 'L' peep sight and no bayonet lug - correct for most of WW2, shown with khaki sling and oiler and a period twin magazine pouch for buttstock

"Kalashnikov"

AK-47's can be seen in the hands of the Soviet soldiers escorting the SS-50 rocket at the beginning of the film. Oddly enough, they are seen using Chinese Type-56's at the end of the film. Also, some of the Mujahideen are carrying AK-47's/Type-56's. (As the film is based around 1985, the Soviets should be using AK-74's, but since at this point in time the AK-74 was not found largely outside of the Soviet Union, the older guns are the only other choice.)

AK-47 - 7.62x39mm

Short Magazine Lee-Enfield (SMLE)

Several of the Mujahideen can be seen using Lee-Enfield's, and later the rifle is seen in the hands of the Turkish soldiers at the guard post.

Ingram MAC 10 submachine gun - .45 ACP.

Tokarev TT-33

The Soviet KGB Agents are seen using Tokarev TT-33 pistols after Emmett and Austin discover their contacts' true loyalties while in Pakistan. The agents are also seen using the pistols later at the highway patrol office. They should, however, be using Makarovs.

Tokarev TT-33 - 7.62x25mm Tokarev.

During Emmett and Austin's training, Colonel Rhombus (Bernie Casey) fires an M1911 at their feet to pursuade them to jump into the mud pit.
