Escape from Mogadishu is a 2021 Korean action-drama film. The film, which is based on true events, takes place in 1991 at the height of the Somalian Civil War and the overthrow of Somali general and president Mohamed Siad Barre by the rebels of Mohamed Farrah Aidid, and follows a group of South and North Korean diplomats and their families as they attempt to hide and escape from the violence and anarchy-filled streets of Mogadishu.

The Tokarev TT-33 is the standard sidearm of all Somalia-affiliated characters.

The PPSh-41 is used by multiple Somalian rebels.

The guards of the Embassy of Italy are armed with the Heckler & Koch MP5SD3.

AK-47
The AK-47 and its variants and copies are used by all of the Somalian characters throughout the movie.
AK-74
The AK-74 is used by multiple Somalian characters.
AKM
The AKM is seen with multiple Somali characters.
AKS-47
The AKS-47 is used by multiple Somalian characters. They may be Type 56-1s but it is difficult to tell.
