Duty After School (Korean title: 방과 후 전쟁활동, Banggwa hu jeonjaenghwaldong; lit. "After School War Activities") is a 2023 South Korean coming-of-age sci-fi television series based on the 2012-2013 webcomic of the same name by Ha Il-kwon. The series takes place during an alien invasion of Earth by a species known as the "spheres" (due to their shape), and follows the senior students of Sungjin High School's Class 3-2 as they are conscripted into the Republic of Korea Army by a national defense order to fight in the war against the spheres in exchange for extra credit on their college applications.
The following weapons were used in the television series Duty After School:
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS is incorrectly shown as the standard sidearm of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces, which actually uses the Daewoo K5.
Submachine Guns
Brügger & Thomet APC9 K PRO
Yeon Bo-ra (Kwon Eun-bin) briefly uses an airsoft Brügger & Thomet APC9 K PRO while playing a carnival shooting gallery game in "End of the War" (E10).
Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW
The Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW is used by Kim Deok-joong (Woo Min-kyu).
Heckler & Koch UMP45
The Heckler & Koch UMP45 is used by Yeon Bo-ra (Kwon Eun-bin).
Assault Rifles
AK-105-Type Carbine
Lee Na-ra (Choi Moon-hee) briefly uses an airsoft AK-105 lookalike while playing a carnival shooting gallery game in "End of the War" (E10). It has a TDI Arms railed handguard and adjustable Crane stock. It also has a smooth top cover as the AK-105 would come with, but has a fixed stock style receiver.
Colt Model 603K
The students of Class 3-2's standard-issue rifle is the Colt Model 603K (a clone of the Colt M16A1 license-made in South Korea), replacing the Daewoo K2 that they used in the original webcomic. Regardless of its actual model, the rifle is still referred to as an M16 in the first two episodes of the series.
Extra - Parts poster
Colt M16A1
Some of the students of Sungjin High School are also seen with the original Colt M16A1 throughout the series.
Norinco CQ Model 311-1
The Norinco CQ Model 311-1, an unlicensed Chinese clone of the Colt M16A1 is also used by the students of Sungjin High School throughout the series.
Daewoo K2
The Daewoo K2 is the standard rifle of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces in the series and is also used by the students, albeit in a reduced role from the original webcomic.
Sniper Rifles
Knight's Armament SR-25
Lee Na-ra (Choi Moon-hee) is also seen using the Knight's Armament SR-25.
Launchers
Saab Bofors Dynamics AT4
The Republic of Korea Armed Forces are seen using the Saab Bofors Dynamics AT4.
Other
PUBG: Battlegrounds
Jang Young-hoon (Ro Jong-hyun) is seen playing PUBG: Battlegrounds in "Question the Spheres" (E01). His character can be seen firing a Heckler & Koch HK416 while carrying a customized QBU-88. Wang Tae-man (Moon Sang-min) also makes a reference to PUBG in the same episode when he mentions that he wished to be given a Kar98k instead of the standard-issue M16. Despite his purported expertise on the rifle, the nearly century-old Kar98 severely lacks in performance compared to the more advanced and (relatively) recent M16A1, especially in a war against aliens.
