Savage Arms is a firearms company founded in 1894, out of Utica, New York, mainly known for their lever- and bolt- action rifles. Savage Arms bought and combined with Stevens Arms in 1920. Savage has also produced pistols, one of which almost won the US Army trials before losing to the classic Colt M1911.
