Train to Busan (Korean title: 부산행; Busanhaeng; lit. "To Busan") is a 2016 South Korean zombie apocalypse action thriller film directed by Yeon Sang-ho and written by Park Joo-suk. The film follows divorced fund manager Seok-woo (Gong Yoo) as he boards a Busan-bound KTX train to visit his mother with his daughter, Su-an (Kim Su-an). As the train takes off, a zombie outbreak begins to sweep Korea and manages to get on the train, infecting and turning the majority of the passengers and forcing the uninfected to defend themselves as the train continues to head for the quarantined Busan. The film was released to widespread acclaim, garnering praise for its story and emotional weight. The film, which would go on to start the Train to Busan franchise, was followed up by an animated prequel titled Seoul Station and a standalone sequel, Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula.
