I Am A Hero (Japanese title: アイアムアヒーロー, Ai amu a hīrō) is a 2015 post-apocalyptic horror-comedy film based on the 2009-2017 manga series of the same name by Kengo Hanazawa. The film stars Yo Oizumi as Hideo Suzuki, a struggling, directionless manga artist's assistant whose life is suddenly changed by the onset of a zombie apocalypse. Armed with only his sporting shotgun (one of the very few in Japan), he sets out to survive and redeem himself as the world deteriorates around him.
The following weapons were used in the film I Am A Hero:
Submachine Guns
Ingram MAC-11
The survivors at the Fuji Royal Outlet Park camp use an airsoft Ingram MAC-11. The gun is later used by Hideo.
Rifles
Colt M4A1
The camp survivors also use an airsoft Colt M4A1.
Shotguns
Ruger Red Label
Hideo Suzuki (Yo Oizumi) prominently uses a 12 gauge Ruger Red Label shotgun throughout the filmm. This is notable difference from the original work, as Hideo is depicted using a Beretta 682 Gold E (and later, a Miroku MSS-20) in the original manga. Due to privately owned firearms being extremely rare in Japan, the shotgun is seen as an item of extreme interest and importance by the other characters throughout the movie. Hideo originally owned the shotgun for recreational sporting, but the zombie apocalypse has given him the opportunity to use it to shoot zombies and help others in need instead.
