The Monk and the Gun
The Monk and the Gun is a Bhutanese 2023 film about an American who travels into Bhutan in search of a valuable antique rifle and crosses paths with a young monk who wanders through the serene mountains, instructed by his teacher to make things right again. This movie is set in Bhutan when it was turning into democracy and has received worldwide acclaim.

Snider-Enfield Rifle
The movie focuses on a Snider Enfield rifle which is an American Civil War rifle that is ‘rare’ and has somehow ended up in the small remote village of Ura, Bumthang in Bhutan. (note, the owner says that the gun killed many Tibetans during the Tibetan Invasions of Bhutan in the 17th century. This is a technical error as the Snider Enfield only came into existence during the 19th century. An appropriate replacement would be a [[Matchlock].]
