The Type 23-3 is a reverse engineered Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23L designed and manufactured by Norinco Group & Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation and mounted on the Changhe Z-10 series helicopters. The helicopters can alternately mount a reverse engineered copy of the 25mm M242 Bushmaster chaingun or the 30mm ZPT-99, though these are not seen as frequently due to the engine lacking power for the weight. The helicopter can also alternately mount a 40mm grenade launcher or a 12.5/14.5mm gatling gun.
