XDefiant (formerly known as Tom Clancy's XDefiant) is a free-to-play first-person shooter video game developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and published by Ubisoft. XDefiant was released on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on May 21, 2024. On PC, the game will be released exclusively on Ubisoft Connect. The game features a variety of factions and classes, each with their own unique abilities and weapons. It is set in the Ubisoft universe, map locations are based on multiple Ubisoft titles in game locations. Players engage in fast-paced, team-based multiplayer matches across a variety of maps and game modes. The setting of the game revolves around factions called "Defiant", Phantoms (from Ghost Recon), Echelon (from Splinter Cell), Cleaners (from The Division), Libertad (from Far Cry) and DedSec (from Watch Dogs). Defiants are customizable with traits, abilities, devices, weapons and items. It has 6-versus-6 linear game modes (such as "Domination" and "Escort").
The following weapons appear in the video game XDefiant:
Pistols
Beretta M9
A military-issue Beretta M9 (judging by the two-dot sights) with a tan Recover Tactical BC2 Grip appears in XDefiant. 15 round mags are used by default and "Quick", "Lightweight" and "Fast" variants are also available, along with an extended 30 round option. Optics can be installed via what looks like a welded on MIL-STD 1913 rail section on top of the slide.
Beretta 93R
A Beretta 93R with wood grips appears as the "93R". It comes by default with a 20 round mag.
Colt M1911A1
A customized Colt M1911A1 with a Colt Gold Cup National Match slide and an extended beavertail appears in XDefiant as the "M1911".
Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark XIX
A stainless steel ported Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark XIX with railed frame and barrel appears in XDefiant with the usual "D50" denomination used in Ubisoft games.
Smith & Wesson Model 686 Performance Center Competitor
A Smith & Wesson Model 686 Performance Center Competitor appears as the "686 Magnum" in XDefiant.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
A Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with a railed handguard and what appears to be a hybrid between the polymer SEF and Navy trigger group, is erroneusly called the "MP5A2". The MP5, just like most of the other guns in the game is depicted as extremely battered and with its magazine, stock and grip wrapped in tape. The trigger guard and charging knob are broken, a sling attachment point is fitted at the end of the receiver and the default collapsible stock is half extended (which is not exactly possible). 30 round steel and polymer magazines of the usual varieties are available, along with a 45 round one (in reality they would hold 38).
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
Fitting the aforementioned MP5A3 with the "Reinforced" stock attachment turns it into an MP5A2
Heckler & Koch MP7A2
A black Heckler & Koch MP7A2 appears as the "MP7" in XDefiant.
KRISS Vector
A dual-tone Gen 1 KRISS Vector in .45 ACP with a prototype trigger and stock appears as the "Vector .45 ACP". The gun has a slightly longer barrel and a rail extension fitted to it.
FN P90 Tactical
The FN P90 Tactical appears as simply the "P90" in XDefiant.
Assault Rifles
M4A1 Carbine
A tan-painted M4A1 appears in XDefiant. It feeds by default from 30 round GI magazines and extended 45 round ones are also available. The default rear sight is a MBUS Pro polymer one and mounting an optic will remove the front sight post and replace it with a low-profile gas block. An option allows to remove the stock and mount a very short buffer tube at the end of the rifle, which would make cycling impossible. Also, installing the "Barrel Extender" muzzle attachment will turn the regular M4 profile 14,5 inch barrel into a 16 inch one, maintaining the same profile.
M16A4
An M16A4 appears in XDefiant, depicted in very poor shape and missing the trigger guard.
Desert Tech MDR
The production version of the Desert Tech MDR in 5.56 appears as the "MDR" in XDefiant.
AKM
An AKM rifle appears with the incorrect name of "AK-47" as is usual in Ubisoft properties. The rifle follows the overall theme of appearing severely damaged, missing its top cover.
Bushmaster ACR
A Bushmaster ACR chambered in 6.8 SPC appears as the "ACR 6.8" in XDefiant. It has a tan upper receiver and stock and black rail system, lower and magazines.
Marksman Rifles and Sniper Rifles
FN MK 20 SSR
A FN SSR with a 10-round magazine appears in XDefiant as a "Marksman Rifle".
Superscript text==SVD Dragunov== A SVD Dragunov appears as the "SVD" in XDefiant as a "Marksman Rifle".
Mosin Nagant Model 1944 Carbine
A Mosin Nagant Model 1944 Carbine appears as the "M44" in XDefiant. It mounts a scope on a front rail by default instead of one that's specific to the rifle.
McMillan TAC-50
A McMillan TAC-50 fitted with a Cadex Dual Strike Chassis appears as the "TAC-50" in XDefiant.
Machineguns
M249 SAW
The M249 SAW appears in XDefiant.
RPK
The RPK appears in XDefiant with the incorrect "RPK-74" denomination, when it clearly is chambered in 7.62x39 and not 5.45x39. Unlike the AKM, it is not missing its top cover.
M60
An M60 machinegun with a rail system appears in XDefiant.
Shotguns
Remington 870
A Remington 870 with ghost ring sights, an extended magazine tube and a chem light taped onto its receiver appears as the "M870" in XDefiant.
Double Barrel Shotgun
A dounble barrel side by side shotgun appears as the "Double Barrel" in XDefiant.
AA-12
An AA-12 shotgun with most of its polymer shell missing appears in XDefiant, feeding by default from 8 round magazines.
