Release Date: 2003
Developer: Metropolis Software
Publisher: JoWood Productions
Platforms: PC
Genre: Action-adventure, Stealth

Gorky Zero is a prequel to Gorky (known in the US as Odium) and was followed up by Gorky 02 Aurora Watching. (Known in the US as Soldier Elite) The game has Cole Sulivan being sent to investigate and destroy a secret Russian lab in Ukraine that's experimenting with turning people into mindless slaves. (Hence the original Polish Subtitle "Gorky Zero: Slave Factory")

In presumably an effort to encourage stealth, all of the game's firearms are drastically underloaded compared to their real life counterparts, likely to make it less feasible to take on several enemies in a direct fight.

The game uses a semi-realistic reloading system, where magazines are discarded when reloading, though oddly if the player picks up a partially loaded magazine, their current full magazine is automatically put in reserve and they will have the partially loaded magazine loaded. (With any more partially loaded magazines being added to their current magazine.)

The following weapons appear in the video game Gorky Zero:

Beretta 92FS

The Beretta 92FS appears, holding 6 shots and be able to be loaded with subsonic (Quieter than normal rounds but still audible) and silent (Enemies can't hear them at all) rounds as well as regular ammo. For some reason, Sullivan, a trained NATO soldier, fires his Beretta sideways gangster-style during gameplay except when leaning.

The Beretta, like the rest of the firearms, doesn't make much sense as the weaponry for a secret Soviet base in Ukraine.

Shotgun

An unknown shotgun appears as the shotgun of the game.

IMI Uzi

The IMI Uzi appear as the "Machine Gun", it holds 18 bullets in a magazine, has bad accuracy and the charging handle is missing. Like the Beretta, Sullivan decides to one-hand the Uzi (unlike enemy soldiers who use a proper two-handed grip though at least he doesn't hold the Uzi sideways) outside of when leaning. (even then, Sullivan uses an odd stance where he holds his right hand down by the wrist with his left instead of actually holding the Uzi with two hands.)

Accuracy International AWM

What appears to be a Accuracy International AWM is available as the "Sniper Rifle", it holds only 4 rounds, the scope can't be used and it can be loaded with regular or subsonic ammunition.
