Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Japanese: 龍が如く極2 Ryū ga Gotoku KIWAMI 2 lit. "Like a Dragon Extreme 2") is a remake of the original Yakuza 2 for the PlayStation 4 and PC. As with its prequel, many of the firearms have been changed from its original counterpart, as the format change to PlayStation 3 after Yakuza 2 also prompted the developers to scrap all the first two games' 3D assets.
The following weapons appear in the video game Yakuza Kiwami 2:
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
1911-type Pistol
The same 1911-type pistol model returns from Yakuza Kiwami, being used by Shintaro Kazama in a flashback sequence.
Makarov PM
The Makarov PM model from Yakuza Kiwami returns, albeit retextured with a stainless steel finish and is seen being used by a Jingweon Mafia member during the same flashback. Normal black versions of this pistol appear in other cutscenes, as well as in game as the "Antique Pistol" and "Modified Model Gun."
Walther PPK
In another repetition from Yakuza Kiwami, main antagonist Wataru Kurahashi's main sidearm appears to be the Walther PPK.
Revolvers
Nambu Model 60
The Nambu Model 60 returns as the standard issue pistol for Japanese police officers.
Shotguns
Remington M870
The Remington 870 makes a return from Kiwami and is imaginatively named "Shotgun." As this model is identical to that of previous Yakuza titles, it also features a front piece linking the magazine tube and barrel, like the Remington Model 31.
Submachine guns
Ingram MAC-10
A submachine gun based on the MAC-10 with the front grip and (incorrectly collapsed) stock from a Brügger & Thomet MP9 appears as the "Kiwami Machine Gun" and is another model borrowed from Yakuza Kiwami. The name "Kiwami" means extreme, which is apt given the weapon's 120 round magazine capacity.
Rifles
Small-calibre Sniper Rifle
A man shoots Kaoru Sayama in the shoulder with a sniper rifle. Although it is impossible to see what exact model it is from the glimpse in game, the large scope suggests it could be the same Remington Model 700 model used in Kiwami. Sayama later describes the bullet as being much smaller than that of a regular sniper rifle, as it was not intended to kill its target.
Unknown Rifle
The strange set of rifles make a return from Yakuza Kiwami. This time the model has been reshaped to make the rear sight/carry handle straighter, making it look more like that of an AR-10/15. However, the overall shape is oddly warped, with a foregrip, front mounted laser/light assembly and a heavily curved magazine that looks eerily familiar to AK pattern guns.
Mounted Weapons
Gatling Gun
An original US Civil War style Gatling gun is seen mounted on a wheeled carriage and used during the Osaka castle sequence. This model is taken from a somewhat similar raid sequence on Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!, and is a replacement of the Browning M2 which appeared here on the original Yakuza 2 game.
Other
Flash Bang
Called "Stun Grenades," Flash Bang grenades can be purchased from the Beam weapon store and is found in the Omi Alliance headquarters during Chapter 3.
General Electric M134 Minigun
A couple of hand held M134 Miniguns can be found in the secret room of the Tojo Clan HQ.
Rocket Launcher
This weapon is purchasable from the weapons dealer and also appears in the Tojo clan's secret room. It appears to be the same model as the rocket launcher from Binary Domain, which is based on the Panzerfaust 3, except the warhead has been removed for this game. Besides being purchasable by Kiryu, it is also the main weapon for Clan member Pocket Circuit Fighter in the Majima Construction mini-game.
Type 97 Hand Grenade
The Type 97 hand grenade is purchasable as the "Incendiary Hand Grenade" from the Beam weapon store. This is despite the fact that the Type 97 is a fragmentation grenade.
Kiwami flashback weapons
During the graveyard sequence at the beginning of the game, the player can choose to watch a round-up of the previous game's story. This features cutscenes showing various weapons from that game, including the Beretta 92FS and Kazama's SIG Pro pistol.
