Hitman: Contracts
|
Hitman: Contracts is the third installment in the Hitman series.
After 47 is injured in the aftermath of a hit, he starts hallucinating events from past contracts as he bleeds out.
Unlike other Hitman tiles; Contracts doesn't allow the player to choose their equipment at the start of a mission as 47 will always start a level with just his dual Silverballers (And a single suppressed one on Normal difficulty) and sometimes extra mission-specific gear.(Such as the WA2000 Sniper.) However when replaying missions the player is able to choose their equipment. (Though likely due to an oversight, despite the fact mission replaying is something you can only do after beating them and how the game is set entirely in flashbacks, the player will lose any non-basic Dual Silverballers if they drop them, this was present and made sense in Hitman 2 Silent Assassin but the framing/post-completion nature of being able to select gear in Contracts means this was likely just something they forgot to change, since it even means the player has to re-accomplish Silent Assassin ratings to retrieve any lost Silent Assassin rating weapons.)
The following weapons appear in the video game Hitman: Contracts:
Handguns
AMT Hardballer Custom
The AMT Hardballer, appearing since the first entry and established in the first sequel as Agent 47's signature handgun (especially dual-wielded), is known in the game once again as the 'Silverballer.' As his most well-known firearms, the AMT Hardballer features heavily in promotional artwork for the game and in level loading screens as well. Agent 47 carries three of these on a typical assignment; two are unsuppressed and dual-wielded, while the third is suppressed and used individually. It is also possible to unlock dual suppressed Silverballers as a bonus for completing the level "The Bjarkhov Bomb" with the Silent Assassin rating. Andrei Puscus is also armed with a suppressed Silverballer in "The Meat King's Party."
Dual-Wielding
Dual-Wielding Suppressed
CZ-G2000
The CZ-G2000 is referred to as the 'CZ2000' and can be found in "Asylum Aftermath" on some of the bodies of the 48 clones and on the table by the elevator in the basement, "The Meat King's Party" carried by several of Sturrock's guards, "The Bjarkhov Bomb" carried by Commander Bjarkhov, Fabian Fuchs and a few of the soldiers, "Rendezvous in Rotterdam" carried by a few of the bikers, in a few of the lockers in the basement firing range and inside the basement weapons room, in "Deadly Cargo" carried by a couple of the mercenaries and in "The Seafood Massacre" carried by some of the police officers. Dual CZ2000s are awarded for completing the level "Asylum Aftermath" with the Silent Assassin rating.
One to note is how the game's inventory lists the caliber of the weapon, while the final game goes back to generic ammo types for each firearm like Silent Assassin, (With only Silverballers having calibre, in this case, exclusive .45 ACP ammo) in the game's demo, the CZ-G2000, SIG-Sauer P220 and Steyr AUG Para all shared 9mm ammo.)
The CZ-G2000 is highly incorrect for Russian soldiers and Commander Bjarkhov to use as standard-issue in the year 2000; a more appropriate choice would be the Makarov PMM.
Dual-Wielding
Glock 19
The Glock 19 appears in the game as the 'GK17'. While the 'GK17' is modeled on the Glock 19, the name and stats for the weapon appear to be from the Glock 17 based on the 17 round magazine, whereas the Glock 19 only carries 15+1. It can be found in "Training" carried by one of the SWAT members, "Beldingford Manor" carried by almost all of the indoor guards, "Deadly Cargo" carried by the harbor police and one in the locker room of the police station with an unattended uniform, "Traditions of the Trade" carried by the hotel security guards and on the bed inside Room 108 next to an unattended guard uniform, "Slaying a Dragon" carried by some of the Blue Lotus Triad members, "The Seafood Massacre" carried by some of the police officers and in "Hunter and Hunter" carried by Inspector Fournier and a few of the police officers. Dual GK19s are awarded for completing "The Seafood Massacre" with the Silent Assassin rating.
Dual-Wielding
Desert Eagle Mark XIX
The gold plated Desert Eagle Mark XIX is featured in the game and can be found in "Beldingford Manor" carried by Alistair Beldingford's drinking companion, "Rendezvous in Rotterdam" carried by Rutgert Van Leuven and in "The Lee Hong Assassination" carried by Tzun. A dual version can be found in a secret area in "Asylum Aftermath", only accessible after the player obtains Ort-Meyer's keycard from "The Wang Fou Incident". In a leaked Beta/the game's manual, the Desert Eagle was chrome instead.
Dual-Wielding
SIG-Sauer P220
The SIG-Sauer P220 appears in the game as the 'SG 220 .S', it has a two-tone finish and is fitted with a non-removable suppressor. It can be found in "Asylum Aftermath" carried by one of the SWAT team members outside the asylum, "The Bjarkhov Bomb" on Commander Bjarkhov's desk, "Traditions of the Trade" on a desk inside Frantz Fuchs' hotel room (taking the place of the Luger from the first game), "The Seafood Massacre" carried by the Red Dragon negotiator and in "Hunter and Hunted" on a bedside table in the room with the dead civilian. A dual version can also be unlocked by completing "Traditions of the Trade" with a Silent Assassin rating. Incorrectly holds 7 rounds of 9mm instead of 9. The pistol in the game also appears to be missing its hammer.
Dual-Wielding
Smith & Wesson Model 500
The Smith & Wesson Model 500 is referred in-game as the 'Magnum 500' and has wooden grips. Dual wielded Magnum 500s are awarded for completing the level "Beldingford Manor" with a Silent Assassin rating. The bikers in the "Rendezvous in Rotterdam" level are armed with these as are Boris Ivanovich Deruzka in "Deadly Cargo", Fuchs' bodyguards in "Traditions of the Trade" and the police chief in "The Seafood Massacre".
Dual-Wielding
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 is used by half of the French GIGN in "Hunter and Hunted". A version with an external suppressor can be acquired as a bonus weapon for completing the level "Slaying A Dragon" with a Silent Assassin rating.
Suppressed
Heckler & Koch MP5K
Although not appearing in the game itself, the Heckler & Koch MP5K appears in the "Deadly Cargo" level loading screen artwork, shoulder-slung by a bodyguard being subdued by Agent 47.
IMI Micro Uzi
The IMI Micro Uzi in the game is used by Blue Lotus & Red Dragon Triad gang members in "Slaying a Dragon", "The Wang Fou Incident", "The Seafood Massacre" and "The Lee Hong Assassination". A suppressed as well as a dual-wield version is available; the dual wield version is unlocked after completing the level "The Meat King's Party" with the Silent Assassin rating. The suppressed dual version is one of the best guns in the game since it offers suppressed automatic fire and can be concealed as well; the suppressed dual versions are unlocked after completing "The Lee Hong Assassination" with a Silent Assassin rating. The suppressed Micro Uzi can be found in "The Wang Fou Incident" being carried by the two Blue Lotus members inside the restaurant and by one of Lee Hong's bodyguards in "The Lee Hong Assassination". Both singular variants can also be found in the weapons room in the basement during the latter mission.

Ruger MP9
The Ruger MP9, which is referred as the 'MP9', is used by most of the guards in "The Meat King's Party".
Steyr AUG Para
The Steyr AUG Para is referred as the 'AUG SMG' and is used by the SWAT team in the Training Area, most of the Romanian SWAT officers in "Asylum Aftermath', Fabian Fuchs' bodyguards in "The Bjarkov Bomb" and can be found in the basement of the biker compound in "Rendezvous in Rotterdam". It has a bluish body/receiver and the scope cannot be used by the player.
Assault Rifles
Colt M4A1
The Colt M4A1 Carbine is used by the SWAT officers in "Deadly Cargo"; there is also a free one in the northenmost warehouse on the second floor. A bonus suppressed version is also available and is awarded for completing the same mission with the Silent Assassin rating.
Suppressed
AK-101
The AK-101 is featured in the game and is erroneously referred to as the "AK-74". It correctly uses 5.56x45mm NATO rounds. It is used by the majority of the Russian soldiers, can be found in Bjarkhov's office and inside the weapons room on the transport ship in "The Bjarkhov Bomb," some of the bikers and in the basement weapons room in "Rendezvous in Rotterdam", the majority of Boris' mercenaries in "Deadly Cargo", some of the Blue Lotus Triad members in "Slaying A Dragon", some of the Red Dragon Triad members in "The Wang Fou Incident", the majority of the police officers in "The Seafood Massacre" and by all of the mansion guards in "The Lee Hong Assassination" where it can also be found inside the small guard rooms, the weapons room, the restaurant basement safe room and the second floor of the restaurant. A bonus suppressed version is unlocked after completing "The Wang Fou Incident" with a Silent Assassin rating.
In real life, in the Russia level "The Bjarkhov Bomb," Russian Army soldiers would likely carry AK-74Ms, the official service rifle of the Russian Army; the AK-101, a rifle intended mainly for export which uses the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge, is indeed used in the Russian Army, but in very limited numbers not just because of its NATO caliber, but also because of the prevalence of the AK-74M as the main service rifle (it should be noted the Russian soldiers in this level are pro-Chechen separatists/sympathizers, which might explain the usage of this unusual weapon in this context). In addition, the rifle used as the AK-101's in-game name, AK-74, is also archaic for the Russian Army, who had phased it out with the modernized AK-74M in 1991, while the mission takes place in 2000.
Suppressed
Norinco Type 56
In one of the early promotional images for the game (when it was known as "Hitman 3" rather than "Hitman: Contracts"), Agent 47 is seen holding a Norinco Type 56, presumably in a sewer during one of the Hong Kong levels. It also appears to mix several models, as it has the milled receiver of early Type 56s and the rear takedown pins in the receiver of later models. The weapon is not featured in-game anywhere.
Sniper Rifles
Note: All sniper rifles in the game can be disassembled and stored in the special ICA Agency sniper rifle suitcase for concealment, a feature introduced in the first game, Hitman: Codename 47 (where it was only used for the Blaser R93).
Enfield Enforcer
The Enfield Enforcer sniper rifle is referred to as the 'Enforcer Sniper Rifle'. It is seen on the balcony of the asylum and in a gun cabinet in an office on the second floor in "Asylum Aftermath" and is seen in a gun cabinet on the ground floor and used by a guard in the stable loft in "Beldingford Manor".
Blaser R93 Tactical
The Blaser R93 Sniper Rifle returns from Hitman: Codename 47 and Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and is referred as the 'R93 Sniper'. It holds 5 rounds of 7.62mm rounds. It is used by the SWAT sniper in "Deadly Cargo" and the police sniper in "The Seafood Massacre"; however, it is much, much easier to take it of the former than the latter. Bringing the R93 in "Slaying a Dragon" recreates the original Hitman: Codename 47 mission, "Kowloon Triads in Gang War".
PGM Mini-Hecate
The PGM Mini-Hecate is referred as the 'PGM Sniper Rifle'. The PGM holds 10 rounds of .338. It is used by the French SWAT snipers in "Hunter And Hunted". A silenced version can be unlocked by completing the same level with a Silent Assassin ranking. It is most effectively used when replaying levels since it is only available in the last level.
Suppressed
SVD Dragunov
The SVD Dragunov is referred as the 'SVD Sniper Rifle'. It is used by two SWAT snipers in "Asylum Aftermath", can be found in the main slaughterhouse area in "The Meat King's Party", can be found in the warehouse at the landing strip and by the soldier on the transport ship in "The Bjarkhov Bomb" and used by the Triad snipers in "Slaying A Dragon". In "Slaying A Dragon", it is easily taken from the sniper on the 4th floor window of the east building. However, if 47 gets too close to the window his cover will be busted no matter what disguise.
Walther WA 2000
The Walther WA 2000, referred to as the 'W2000 Sniper Rifle', is Agent 47's sniper rifle of choice in the game. Although notably-featured in the two previous installments, this is the game that established the WA 2000 as 47's signature sniper rifle for the rest of the series. It features heavily in artwork, level loading screens and in the animated main menu screen. It is also the starting weapon in the missions "Traditions of the Trade", "Slaying A Dragon" and "The Seafood Massacre," with the rifle disassembled in its corresponding ICA Agency suitcase for concealment. The sniper rifle suitcase concealment was brought back from the first entry, Hitman: Codename 47, and the feature carried over to the sequel, Hitman: Blood Money, where the WA 2000 gets a special disassembly and reassembly animation.
Unlike other Hitman titles, the WA2000's briefcase can be used to conceal other sniper rifles, this is best seen when replaying the game which gives the player access to the ability to change their weapons in a level, as 47 will always bring that other rifle in the sniper case, if the player replays a level which normally gives them the WA2000 with a different two-handed weapon equipped (Such as a Shotgun.), then the weapon will still appear in a briefcase close to the player's starting position.
The rifle can be found in the guards' quarters in "The Wang Fou Incident", in the weapons room in "The Lee Hong Assassination" and in the closet of 47's hotel room in "Hunter and Hunted". It is arguably the best sniper rifle in-game, as it has an integrated silencer, holds 6 rounds and is capable of semi-automatic fire.
Shotguns
Double Barreled Shotgun
The Double Barreled Shotgun can be found both as the Sawn-off and normal style. The normal version is only found during the level "Beldingford Manor" being used by all of the outside guards, at least one of the inside guards and be found in the 2 guest bedrooms and a gun cabinet on the first floor. The sawn off variant is used by both Winston & Alistair Beldingford in "Beldingford Manor", the bartender and some of the bikers in "Rendezvous in Rotterdam" where it can also be found in the weapons room in the basement, is used by the bikers in "Deadly Cargo", can be found on the floor of the crime scene room in "Traditions of the Trade" and by the bartender in "The Seafood Massacre". Dual sawnoffs are unlocked after completing the level "Rendezvous in Rotterdam" with a Silent Assassin rating.
Sawed-Off Double Barreled Shotgun
Sawed-Off Dual-Wielding
Franchi SPAS 12
The Franchi SPAS-12 with its butt removed is used by some of the Romanian SWAT officers in "Asylum Aftermath" where it can also be found on the body of the dead officer on the second floor and in a room on the third floor, in the box of roses at the flower shop in "Traditions of the Trade" (a Terminator 2 reference), and used by some of the GIGN and CRS officers in "Hunter and Hunted".
Machine Guns
GE M134 Minigun (Handheld)
A handheld GE M134 Minigun can be found in a secret area of the level "Asylum Aftermath" after accessing the Ort-Meyer keycard. However, it slows 47 to a crawl. Also, it takes about a second or two to rev up.
M60E3
The M60E3 machine gun with the fore-grip removed can be seen being used by the SWAT officer in the helicopter in "Deadly Cargo", by the Blue Lotus Triad member in the helicopter in "Slaying A Dragon", and in the two weapons rooms at both ends of the basement in "The Lee Hong Assassination". Somehow, it is classified in-game as a "rifle", while the submachine guns and the gatling gun are classified as "machine guns".
